What is the post shoe used for?
These "split" joist shoes, mainly used in timber construction, are ideally suited for fixing wooden beams whose dimensions deviate from the standard. For the assembly of the beam, one beam shoe each is required with a lug on the outside right and a lug on the outside left. The connection of the wooden beam is thus possible with another wooden post, as well as with the masonry or concrete.
How is the beam shoe constructed and how is it used?
The holes with the diameter of 5 mm, 9 mm and 11 mm are already pre-drilled, which allows easy and quick installation with the appropriate mounting accessories. The number of holes depends on the size of the beam shoe. You will find the details in parentheses with the available sizes.
The split beam shoes have a material thickness of 2 mm. Due to the sendzimir galvanized surface of the steel, our joist shoes are optimally protected against external weather influences.
What should be considered and what are the technical details of the post support?
