Rigid Couplers are usedwherever two scaffolding tubes cross at right angles. The 90° angle makes them an ideal solution for load-bearing connections between two pipes. They are also suitable for connecting a scaffolding pipe to a scaffolding anchor. They are therefore mainly used for façade scaffolding.
The Rigid Coupler Light is very popular in event technology and is often used for the construction of small, medium and large scaffolding.
In order for the connection to be truly stable, the coupling must be positioned in the right places on the scaffolding. In order to create really stable connections by using the couplings, the ends of the scaffolding must protrude beyond the coupling. At least four centimetres should protrude as a safety reserve to prevent the pipes from accidentally slipping out.
In addition to the right location, the correct size is also a decisive safety factor. Rigid Couplers are available with accessories in various key widths . In our range you will find couplings with Collar nuts in AF 19 or 22. When making your selection, please also pay attention to the size of the pipes you are using. Our scaffolding couplings are ideal for scaffolding tubes with a diameter of 4.83 cm.
To connect the device coupling to a pipe, it is opened by unscrewing the Collar nut and then placing the coupling around the steel pipes. The nuts are then placed on the hammerhead bolts and tightened until a stable connection is created in which the pipes can no longer be moved.

The Rigid Couplersavailable from us are made of galvanised steel and are manufactured in accordance with DIN EN 74. This standard specifies the design of device couplings and how exactly they must be constructed. Rigid Couplers ensure safety on the construction site thanks to their high load-bearing capacity and reliability. Steel also offers a long service life.
The galvanisation also protects the material from various weather influences and moisture and ensures that it does not corrode. It can therefore be used outdoors permanently without losing its stability. It does not matter whether the coupling is galvanised or hot-dip galvanised. The two variants differ in that electrogalvanising is applied like a layer using direct current, while hot-dip galvanised items are immersed in a pure zinc bath, creating a resistant alloy layer of iron and zinc.
A rigid Coupler enables rigid connections between two pipes at a 90° angle. This makes them one of the most frequently used coupling types in scaffolding construction. They are practical, easy to handle and offer reliable stability. In addition to horizontal and vertical tubes, they can also connect the longitudinal struts of the scaffolding frame to a scaffolding anchor on the house wall. Swivel couplers serve the same purpose, but can also be used to connect to diagonal pipes thanks to their flexible centre. The Swivel coupler consists of more individual parts than the normal variant. The two device clamps can be rotated and the angle can be freely adjusted. This results in more flexible application options. As the design of Swivel couplers is more complex, they are generally more expensive than clamps that only connect rods and pipes at right angles. Despite their differences, both rod couplings can also be used for the same purpose. They offer the same stability and therefore reliably protect employees on the work equipment.
