What is the post support used for?

How is the post support with bead constructed and how is it used?
Since the post supports are doweled or screwed on in a U-shape, the installation is very simple. The beam is screwed tightly over the existing holes in the foundation. The wooden post is mounted through 2 or 4 holes each in the 100 mm high side lug with the help of fastening screws.
During assembly, the post is placed on the post support and screwed. Due to the bead, the beam is ventilated and thus protected from accumulated moisture.
