What is the Tail hinge used for?
Tail hinges are used for the construction of garden gates, wooden crates & cupboard doors. The Hinge ensures that the two elements are movably connected to each other.
How is the rear hinge constructed and how is it used?
The Tail hinge is screwed to the back of the two components using countersunk screws. As the holes are countersunk, a flush screw connection is possible.
Tip for building a wooden crate: To ensure that the lid sits flush on the wooden crate, a small recess should be made in the width of the Hinge on the top of the crate. This ensures that the lid does not rest on the hinge, but on the wooden crate, thus avoiding a large gap between the two components.
What to consider and what technical details does the crate hinge have?
The hinge is available in the following dimensions: 75 x 37 mm, 100 x 30 mm, 125 x 38 mm, 150 x 48 mm, 200 x 48 mm, 255 x 60 mm. Thanks to the galvanised finish, the hinges are protected against external weather influences.
